Young Black Men Rally to Protect Stores from Looters

Even after the press conference shenanigans of the police earlier on friday when everybody in support of the brown family got mad, YOUNG BLACK MALE PROTESTORS RALLIED TO PROTECT THE STORES from the handful of opportunists trying to loot.

That’s the headline that should have been the banner of every news outlet this morning. Young black men roaming the night may all look the same to some, but they are all not the same.

Seeing protestors take responsibility for their fellow citizens, whether those citizens are supporting them or not, Melissa Harris Perry then raised the question: What responsibility should elected officials be taking?
